Creation Song

Long ago, before the time of remembering, a beginning began...
Out of the Oceans came a light.
The Ocean of sky gave birth to a light, and it fell into the Ocean of the waters below.
From far above the waters came a light, and it came down to the sea. From the Bright Star came the light, and it settled onto the sea, and it was so bright the stars that came with it were hard to see. Seven dancing stars, spinning around the light, were seen and they settled down into the waters, sinking beneath the waves.Out from the greater light came a wave, washing high onto the shore, and a form, a great wet One came out. It came out and swam away from the land, out into the sea, away. The waves from it were a long time coming back to the land, but they came.
Days passed and then the One came back, surging thru the waves, bringing big waves with it that climbed the cliffs and wet all the land.....
When stillness returned, the One was floating there, looking.

It looked at the light from which it came, a looked toward the land. Out from under the Light came the seven stars, surrounding the One, circling around, bright. The One was pleased, and the seven stars slowed down. The seven stars settled onto the sea, and floated there in a circle, shining.
The One was big, and it breathed deep, big breaths, It's breaths caused waves, steady waves to wash onto the land.
From the mouth of the One came a sound, a sound of Joy.
The seven stars sang with the sound of Joy.
Rising up into a mighty song, the sounds of Joy came for the first time to the world.
The song lasted a long time. Days passed, and under the sun the song rolled on.
The sun started to dance and shine, and then moved across the sky. The sky became full of colors, and the sun went below the edge of the sea. Darkness came and the song of Joy changed, becoming slow and deep.
Deep Joy, slow and steady, waves of song and water washed over the land.
As the sun rose again into the sky, the sister stars dove deep into the sea, and sang a song of newness and creation, and the silver, blue and black beings of the sea first swam into the world.

The seven stars rose up and moved over the land, dancing in their circle, singing Joy.
The One rose up tall in the water, watching, singing of Joy.
When the sun went below the rim of the world again, the stars rose into the sky. Into the darkness danced the seven stars, lighting the land below. The waters had washed and shaped the land, and formed a river, returning the water to the sea. Over this river the seven stars circled.
The One watched the river, and small green things began to rise up out of the ground where the stars had shone, along the river.
Singing of Joy, the One and the seven sister stars all were filled with delight, as the green things grew into ferns and palms and trees, grasses and bushes and vines. Green things crowded the river banks, and the water began to form into clouds over the river, and it rained and filled the river and the green plants grew more.
More Joy.....

The seven sisters rose up and watched, singing with the One who watched from the sea.
Among the green things were some that began to flower. The One wanted to see them and came close to the land, to the flowers. Breathing small breaths, the One leaned on the land, and the land was pressed down, and the One made a hole in the land. Flowers fell in the hole, and the One was happy, and sang more Joy.
Leaning into the hole, the One breathed deep to smell the flowers, and the water and the Joy and the breath all came together and went into the hole and then it came out above.
The seven sisters danced around the new Sound of Joy, and smelled the breath and the flowers and the waters all mixed together, and out came a new song of Joy.
The new song rang and soared and among the green things appeared earth colored things, brown and red and black and gold. They moved around among the green things, animals among the plants. They breathed the new sound, the new air that the One had made.
Movement, and cycles of change, as the animals discovered their new world, added to the song of Joy.

And from the Ocean came the special songs of the Water People, the ones who had been born from the Star Sisters, and the song called out to the Land People, and they came down to the edge of the sea.
When they saw who had called them, the manimals sang out a new song, the song of recognition, of remembering. No one knew where this song came from, but it was a beautiful song and was part of the Great song of Joy.
And listening to the songs from the sea, the manimals became men and women, who remembered all that had been and all that had happened and how the One had come to the world and the Seven Sisters from the stars.
Remembering was the special gift the men and women brought to the Great Song of Joy. And this is the beginning of all things in the world. Our world comes from the Beyond, a place we don't know, except as memories known to the Water People. One day we will hear their song and remember where the One came from and where the One went,
