Visions for the Future of Human/Cetacean Interaction
Aquatecture, a new field of design, has produced
some wonderful visions of ways to interact with sea creatures.
Here, a floating motel bobs in the sea...
Jean-Luc Bozzoli, a French artist, has painted visionary scenes of sites
for human/cetacean interaction for over 20 years.
This is his vision of a temple,
where humans and cetaceans might worship together.
Among Bozzoli's ideas is a site for "conscious birthing",
with dolphins as midwives.
This has occured in Russia in the past
and was reported to be an ecstatic experience.
John Lilly, before his death,
worked with a digital artist to develop a virtual tour
of a futuristic dolphin research lab.
The designs are well considered,
based on Lilly's previous years of research.
Among the fanciful ideas surrounding dolphins
has always been that of taking dolphins into space.
In this case, an antenna in the shape of a dolphin has been proposed.
Here the Antenna is fully deployed.
As the central part of Project Bluestar,
this space station has been concieved as a place
where dolphins could teach fledgling humans
how to live in weightlessness.
A dream vessel, the Oceania would be very unusual.
In the center is a "moon pool", where dolphins or whales
could surface inside the craft.
